gr g Slickly (FR) - Bocanegra (FR) (Night Shift)
Chased leaders until nudged along and lost place approaching 3 out, no threat after but kept on steadily (jockey said, regarding running and riding, her instructions were to settle gelding behind the leaders as the gelding had raced freely on its previous run and to do her best from there. As the early place was a strong one, she was able to settle the gelding and was happy with her position until the field quickened out of the back straight when she felt she could no longer go with them, despite her efforts to squeeze the gelding along and maintain contact. She therefore held the gelding together in the closing stages in order to get the gelding home. trainer's rep stated that the ride accorded with the instructions given and added that they intended to persevere with gelding with a summer campaign in the hope that the gelding may improve for better ground) (tchd 14/1)
