b g Dr Fong (USA) - Liska's Dance (USA) (Riverman)
Raced in 7th to halfway, closed 3 out, led after 2 out and pushed clear (trainer said, regarding the apparent improvement in form shown, that this was only gelding's 2nd run for him; he said it had lots of minor problems and on it's debut for him it jumped off near the rear of the field, was reluctant to race and almost refused at the 1st; today it was ridden more handily and placed in the middle of horses early on so as to concentrate its mind; he added the change of tactics, nornal improvement and the fact that his horses are running better of late brought about the improvement.)

bz g High Chaparral (IRE) - Cutting Reef (IRE) (Kris)
Never a threat, modest late headway (jockey said, regarding running and riding, that his orders were to drop gelding in, get it settled, creep into the race and finish as best he could; he said it missed the start and felt the field went a real good gallop; he thought halfway down the back the field would come back and he pushed along; on turn for home he gave it a smack but felt it did not pick up and from that point on he rode it hands and heels to the line; trainer confirmed instructions, and said aim today was to get it settled and jumping as it had jumped poorly on its first start for her; it was outpaced over today's trip and will now to look to step it up in trip in the future.)
