b g Nikos - Fia Rosa (FR) (Royal Charter)
Held up in rear, headway into moderate 6th entering straight, ridden in 4th and no impression 2 out, kept on same pace from before last to go 3rd run-in (jockey said regarding running and riding, that his instructions were to drop his mount out, get the horse to switch off and try to get him home as best as he could; he said that gelding was very keen early on and jumped the first fence very big; he tried to get the gelding to switch off after the fence, but the gelding was still buzzy, probably because it was the gelding's first run of the year; he asked him to quicken after jumping the third last, but he gave a blow soon after; he got the gelding home as best as he could and said with different more forceful tactics the gelding may have not gotten home; he felt he obtained his best possible finishing position. Trainer said this was the horse's first run for him, having been purchased from England, and he outlined a number of problems the horse has had since he came to the yard. He said that he was satisfied with the ride, having been aware of how this horse has stopped in the past when asked to go and win his race; he said gelding had run with a tongue strap in the past, but on this occasion it was good ground he said he would leave off to see if it was really needed. Jockey confirmed that gelding did not make a noise today.)
