He felt the pace was too fast early given the going and he didn't go after them. On the turn leaving the backstraight he was forced to check wide and shuffled back. He squeezed his mount all the way home from there and there was little response. He felt the horse wants better ground and possibly a further trip in time. He felt heobtained his best possible placing; trainer said that she didn't tie the rider down to specific instructions as he knew the horse. She stated that she was worried about the ground today and felt that the horse merely passed tired horses in the straight. She expressed herself satisfied with the ride and expected she would probably put the horse away for the season now) | ||||||||||
