Held up towards rear, progress after 4 out to go 6th next, going well and went close 2nd 2 out, ridden between last 2, kept on well under pressure to lead close home (trainer said, regarding the apparent improvement of form that the gelding on his second last run at Naas on 19th October, his charge made a bad mistake at the 3rd last hurdle, and lost any chance thereafter. He then ran at Punchestown on 15th November in his first handicap hurdle and he disappointed badly, but he could find no explanation for the poor showing. That day he dropped him back in trip to 2m, and any apparent improvement in form shown today may have been as a result of the significant step up in trip to 2m7f and his rider claiming 5lbs off a light weight)
