Held up in rear early, going well in moderate 7th after 4 out, improved into never threatening 5th before 2 out, ridden briefly and progress into 3rd at last, ran on well into 2nd close home where eased briefly, nearest finish (jockey said regarding running and riding that her instructions were to settle her mount in the early stages as he can be free, to get him balanced and to do the best she could. She added that her mount had a record of falling and she wanted to get him jumping and over the last hurdle before she made her final effort. The trainer, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride considering the riders inexperience. He outlined the difficulties in settling his charge and stated he had a wind operation. He also added he told the rider not to put the horse into the race in the early stage. He felt his charge could have of been nearer to the pace early on and have finished closer) (op 16/1)
