He added that the gelding jumped well when he met the hurdles on a good stride but he found it difficult when the stride was wrong. He added that he had asked for an effort round the bottom bend but the leaders had quickened away and had caught him flat-footed. He further added that he continued to ask the gelding for an effort all the way to the line, but in his opinion, his finishing position was flattered by the third, which was weakening.
