Led, headed 8th, tracked leader, led again before 13th, ridden and headed 4 out, weakened after 3 out, tired and mistake last, lost 2nd near finish (jockey appeared to ease gelding shortly after jumping the final fence and was overtaken to finish third, beaten ½ a length. After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, jockey's explanation was noted that the gelding made a mistake at the last, and mindful that the gelding was very tired, gave him time to recover before asking him for his final effort. He maintained that it was only when the other runners reached him that the gelding rallied and therefore achieved his best possible placing.) (tchd 6/4)
