1.45 Musselburgh: Dancing Amy

Had the most recent of her two starts at Wetherby on November 29 when a 38-length third. Trainer Lucinda Russell said: "She just cut out a bit towards the end, so we had her soft palate cauterised. It's a very simple quick-fix operation that requires only three weeks recovery. If we think it's worked there's every chance she'll have a full wind operation at the end of the season."

3.20 Chepstow: Alberobello

Three-time winner but below par at Worcester on October 25. Trainer Nicky Martin said: "He had his second soft-palate operation on October 31. He had a full wind op a few years ago and then a first soft-palate. They say you can only do three ops, so this will have been his last one. People talk about a 50 per cent success rate in terms of improved performance. He's working like a demon at home."

4.00 Musselburgh: Dr Hoovesand Wimpole

Wimpole received a 'not run on' Racing Post in-running comment for his last-of-12 at Hereford on November 29. That was his second run, while Dr Hooves has raced only once, finishing fifth in an April Carlisle bumper. His trainer Lucinda Russell said: "He's never made much of a noise but didn't make it home up the hill. We decided to give him a hobday."
