William Hill end sponsorship of Ayr Gold Cup with Leger potentially next to go

Racing in Scotland and the north has been left reeling by news that William Hill have ended their sponsorship of the Ayr Gold Cup and could also be poised to pull out of backing the St Leger.
William Hill have supported Scotland's biggest Flat race since 2009 and were also behind the Silver and Bronze Cups, the Group 3 Firth of Clyde Stakes and the Listed Doonside Cup last season.
However their contract expired in 2019 and it has not been renewed, leaving Ayr looking for just its sixth sponsor of the race since 1972.
