Monday

The week starts with an unusual wintery feel as three jumps cards in Britain and Ireland take centre stage, with the 3m2½f handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (3.10) featuring 2019 Cheltenham Festival second Tobefair as well as the progressive course-and-distance winner Drumlee Watar.

Perth stages a valuable six-race card while Galway is in action in the evening, featuring the once highly rated Holymacapony in the 2m5½f hurdle (5.05).

The Flat fixtures are at Brighton and Newcastle, while there are some top Grade 1s at Del Mar and Saratoga in America on Labor Day.

Tuesday

Just Hubert has bounced back to his best with successes on his last two starts and will attempt to complete a quickfire hat-trick in the 2m handicap (4.05) at Goodwood.

Catterick and Leicester also have fixtures in the afternoon before Windsor stages its final meeting of the year with an evening card.

In Ireland, there is Listed action from Galway with the Oyster Stakes (6.30), which was won last year by subsequent Group 1 winner Princess Zoe and could feature last year's Cesarewitch heroine Great White Shark this time.

Wednesday

The first day of Doncaster's St Leger meeting has the Group 3 Sceptre Fillies' Stakes (3.25) but the highlight for many will be seeing former stars of the saddle in action in the Leger Legends Classified Stakes (2.50), in which recently retired jumps idols Barry Geraghty and Richard Johnson are set to put on their silks once again.

The Sceptre could feature Royal Ascot heroine Highfield Princess and Fred Darling Stakes runner-up Statement, while the Listed Scarbrough Stakes (4.00) may see King's Stand Stakes second Arecibo take on the popular Dakota Gold.

The other afternoon action comes from Carlisle on the Flat and Uttoxeter over jumps, while Cork and Wolverhampton provide the evening's entertainment.

Thursday

The ITV cameras roll on to Town Moor for the second day of the St Leger meeting with the classy action jumping up a notch.

Ante-post 1,000 Guineas favourite Inspiral could bid to maintain her unbeaten record in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes (2.40) and her joint-trainers John and Thady Gosden are also set to run recent Deauville Group 3 winner Free Wind in the Group 2 Park Hill Fillies' Stakes (3.15).

Grade 1-winning jockeys Harry Cobden, Nick Scholfield and Paddy Brennan get the chance to test out their skills on Epsom's unique camber in the Jump Jockeys Derby (2.55), while there are also Flat cards from Chepstow in the afternoon and Chelmsford in the evening.

Friday

Doncaster is set to stage a fantastic Friday headlined by a thrilling rematch between Stradivarius and Goodwood Cup winner Trueshan in the Group 2 Doncaster Cup (2.40).

The pair last met on Champions Day last year when Trueshan scored a runaway win as Stradivarius bombed in the Long Distance Cup and they were due to clash in the Lonsdale Cup – which Stradivarius won in a thrilling battle – at York last month before Trueshan was pulled out due to quick ground.

Sandown and Chester also stage seven-race fixtures in the afternoon, while Salisbury and Ballinrobe race in the evening.

Saturday

The final Classic of the season is already upon us as Doncaster stages the Cazoo St Leger (3.35). Hurricane Lane carried all before him with impressive victories in the Irish Derby and Grand Prix de Paris over the summer and bids to add another Group 1 to his haul in Britain's oldest Classic.

The progressive Ottoman Emperor – winner of the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last time – and Derby second Mojo Star could headline the opposition, while there is Group 2 action with the Champagne Stakes (2.20) and Park Stakes (3.00).

The Irish Champion Stakes (2.45) is the feature and is set to play host to a mouthwatering clash between top three-year-old St Mark's Basilica and Breeders' Cup Turf heroine Tarnawa, while some top fillies and mares will be in action in the Matron Stakes (1.40).

The card also has two Group 2s, the Champions Juvenile Stakes (2.10) and Boomerang Mile (3.15), as well as some ultra-competitive handicaps on a brilliant day of action.

Bath and Chester also race in the afternoon before two evening meetings at Lingfield and Musselburgh.

Sunday

The second day of Irish Champions Weekend features four Group 1s and plenty of classy stars. The main event is the Irish St Leger (4.40) as Search For A Song bids to complete a hat-trick in the Classic.

Top juveniles from Ireland and Britain will be on show in the Moyglare Stud Stakes (3.30) and National Stakes (4.05), while the classy sprinters will strut their stuff in the Group 1 Flying Five (2.55).

Last year's winner and subsequent Breeders' Cup winner Glass Slippers could bid to provide Kevin Ryan with more top-level glory following Emaraaty Ana's Sprint Cup success at the weekend.

In France, Longchamp stages its trials for next month's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe headlined by the Group 1 Prix Vermeille, for which Arc favourite Snowfall holds an entry. The Prix Neil and Prix Foy are other races used as a stepping stone to the Arc.

It is a busy day in Britain too, with fixtures from Bath, Chelmsford, Musselburgh and the rescheduled Sunday Series meeting at Haydock.
