32Red to sponsor Lincoln after agreeing three-year deal
The Lincoln Handicap, as the traditional curtain-raiser to the Flat turf season, will be run under the sponsorship of 32Red after the firm announced a three-year deal with Arena Racing, owners of Doncaster racecourse.
The heritage handicap, which will be run on March 24 with £100,000 up for grabs, was won last year by Bravery, who edged out the Ryan Moore-ridden Oh This Is Us in a result estimated to have saved bookmakers between £20 million and £40m as the rider came within a neck of completing a huge four-timer.
David Leyden Dunbar of Arc said: “The Lincoln is a heritage handicap with a tremendous history, and a special place in the racing calendar as the first major race of the new turf season and we’re looking forward to continuing that with 32Red.”
Lord Glitters, an impressive winner of the Balmoral Handicap on Champions Day, heads the 32Red Lincoln market with the sponsors at 11-1.
