Derby favourite Auguste Rodin will bid to make Aidan O'Brien the most successful trainer in the history of the Vertem Futurity Trophy (3.35) on Saturday after the Ballydoyle maestro revealed the son of Deep Impact would be his main contender in the Doncaster Group 1.

O'Brien has won a staggering 51 juvenile events this season and Auguste Rodin propelled himself towards the top of the two-year-old pecking order with a stylish victory in the Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown in Irish Champions Weekend last month.

Auguste Rodin is currently 6-4 favourite with Coral and Ladbrokes for the final Group 1 of the domestic campaign and 7-1 favourite for next year's Derby.
