'Unfortunate' Rather Be hammered into favouritism for Caspian Caviar Gold Cup
Rather Be is all the rage for Saturday's Caspian Caviar Gold Cup, shortening into 11-4 in places from his price of 6-1 on Monday morning, with regular partner Jeremiah McGrath stating that the seven-year-old "has got a big pot in him".
Owned by Derby County fan Matt Morgan and his wife Lauren, hence the black and white silks, Rather Be was travelling powerfully in last month's BetVictor Gold Cup only to be brought down four out in a race won by Baron Alco.
The Nicky Henderson-trained gelding escaped none the worse for the unlucky incident and returns to Cheltenham looking potentially well handicapped, with the BetVictor winner and runner-up Frodon likely to be in opposition again for Saturday's £130,000 feature.
