Turner back in the winner's enclosure at Yarmouth
Hayley Turner is finding it difficult to hang up her saddle permanently, and her latest comeback resulted in a winner at Yarmouth on Wednesday.
At the start of the month she teamed up with former boss Michael Bell for a winner at Windsor, and the same trainer provided her with another as Hart Stopper won the third round of the Silk Series, a
nine-race, £100,000 championship sponsored by Arena Racing Company which is specifically for professional and amateur lady jockeys.
"I'm trying to break the record of comebacks," she joked with ITV Racing colleague Jason Weaver, after scooping the 6f handicap by half a length.
Not all of Turner's returns have been successful, as she did not fare so well earlier in the month out in Sweden when taking part in a female riders competition at Bro Park.
When asked if that meant she would consider riding in future rounds of the series, Turner said: "There's a lot of girls riding at the moment and they deserve the chances. I'd feel a little bit greedy if I did that. The series is a great opportunity for them to show people what they've got."
Turner does not have any more rides on the immediate horizon, but did not rule out another return, as she said: "I've not got anything in mind but you never know and I'll see what happens."
