Was it a big day?

It was a decent midweek card for the track, featuring a £20,000 handicap chase.

How much was entry on the gate?

£22, but tickets were available for £18 in advance.

Other than restaurants/hospitality, what were the food and beverage options?

The Martin Pipe bar is a big facility on the bottom floor of the main stand overlooking the paddock.

Food and drink could be purchased at AP's bar. There were good options for food such as sandwiches, jacket potatoes, salad bowls and a pulled pork bap, but some classics too such as pasties, sausage rolls and chips.

There were also hot meals served in Denman's. For £12 you could get a pie, mash and veg or fish and chips.

What's the damage?

Water (330ml can): £2.50
Cheapest pint: £5.50 (Carling Black Label, Sharps Atlantic Pale Ale)
Guinness: £6.00
Champagne: £57.50
Tea: £2.50
Coffee: £3.00
Burger: £7

All drink prices taken from the main racecourse bar, or where there are multiple bars, one chosen at random.

How was the pie?

Excellent. A nice chicken balti with mash and roasted vegetables was perfect on a cold and wet day. £12 is a bit on the steep side, though.
