Scottish tracks fear 'being left behind' as tight restrictions on crowds remain

Racecourses in Scotland remain some distance from welcoming back capacity crowds but will be able to host at least 1,000 spectators from July 19 after first minister Nicola Sturgeon announced the country would move to level zero of its Covid-19 restrictions.

Scotland's five tracks can currently host 500 people, with the option to apply to their respective local authorities for larger attendances.

From Monday, their permitted attendances will double, with the same option to apply to increase the numbers on a case-by-case basis.
