There was a riveting finish to the At The Races Rehearsal Chase, in which four turned in with a chance but none of them won.

Beware The Bear, sent off the 11-4 favourite, was labouring down the back straight, where it turned out his rider Sean Bowen's saddle slipped. He went 499-1 in running on Betfair but stayed on all the way up the straight to nab last year's fourth Bishops Road close home.

"He was a candidate for pulling up, let alone winning!" admitted Bowen, who also landed the opener on Act Of Valour. "But I was told he'd just stay and stay and that's what he did. He also jumped great and that's probably what won it for him."
