You had to imagine the fireworks from Harry Angel, which were mostly in his head as he bucked in the stalls and then raced more freely than ideal when taking a lead through the first few furlongs.

Adam Kirby realised the futility of the exercise soon enough, pulled out Harry Angel and let him show his class, blunted just very slightly by his freshness and lack of a recent run relative to the placed horses.

There can be no mistake that beating two race-fit rivals, who were separated by a fairly similar margin last time, in that manner while conceding weight shows Harry Angel to be at least as good as last year.
