Festival winner Lorcan Williams continues good week in Chepstow feature

Lorcan Williams has continued to take advantage of good opportunities away from Aintree, as he built on Thursday's Taunton double with victory in Chepstow's feature 2m7½f novice handicap chase.

Williams' 61st career winner may be have been his easiest with Saint De Reve the only finisher of three runners in the £10,800 contest.

The Paul Nicholls-trained runner was going one better after consecutive second-place finishes, and was continuing a great spell for his jockey which started with a festival first with Porlock Bay in the Hunters' Chase.

"I'm really enjoying it so hopefully I can maintain the momentum," Williams said.

"He'll [Saint De Reve] come on massively, he's got an engine and hopefully that's a step in the right direction. He's taken a lot of time, I rode him at Aintree at the start of the season and there was a question mark as we didn't know why he didn't run so well. Then he'd run well twice so it's nice to get his head in front."

15th time lucky

Kilchreest Moon has been at three different yards and had 15 runs but on Saturday finally became a winner after seeing off Imphal in the first division of the 2m3½f novice handicap hurdle.
