There was something rather ironic in 17-2 shot Beautiful People romping home by 11 lengths to floor 11-8 favourite Sheelbewhatsheelbe in the second 3m handicap hurdle on the card.

Both horses have been in the care of trainer Richard Phillips. He still trains the winner, whereas the runner-up has joined the in-form Dan Skelton team having been bought for £6,500 when sent to Ascot sales in June.

Sheelbewhatsheelbe won her first race for her new trainer in good style at Perth, but she met her match this time even though her conqueror had run 17 times without success over hurdles.
