Promising juveniles to the fore on the Rowley Mile with Classic clues expected

After an awesome Arc weekend, the Rowley Mile is back centre stage with its two-day Future Champions meeting. While the Cesarewitch and Old Rowley Cup will be warm betting heats, the star performances could come what looks the most exciting two-year-old crop for several years. Here are five to keep your eye on at Newmarket on Friday and Saturday

Heartwarming
1.50 Friday

Heartwarming has made a reasonable start to her career and her Listed second at Newbury displayed good improvement.

A half-sister to last year's Queen Mary winner Heartache, she needs to find more to compete with the likes of True Mason on form, but juveniles can take huge strides at this time of the year. It helps that the Clive Cox yard are among the winners, and the decision to recruit Frankie Dettori for the ride adds further intrigue.

2.25 Friday

In many ways it would be unsurprising if Hidden Message was overlooked in the build up to the Oh So Sharp Stakes by the Aidan O'Brien-trained Frosty, the full sister to multiple Group 1-winning filly Winter who impressed at Dundalk on her first start.

Hidden Message was arguably more impressive in her easy debut win at Yarmouth, where the daughter of the late super-sire Scat Daddy quickened clear superbly for jockey-of-the-moment Oisin Murphy. The in-form rider continues the partnership and the William Haggas stable is firing out winners.

1.50 Saturday

The Listed Zetland Stakes is an early opportunity for stamina-laden youngsters to raise their hand as a contender for next year's big middle distance prizes.

The last two runnings have produced a Derby winner, a St Leger winner, a Derby runner-up, two Royal Ascot winners and a Grade 2 juvenile hurdle winner.

Therefore, the form of this year's race should not be underestimated and Norway could be the one to follow. A full brother to 2013 Derby hero Ruler Of The World, he took a big step forward with a wide-margin maiden win at Naas at the beginning of the month.

His front-running style would work well if replicated on the Rowley Mile and Aidan O'Brien won this race last year with Kew Gardens.

Kadar
2.25 Saturday

Karl Burke is no stranger to Group 1 success these days and based on his taking debut victory at Haydock last month, Kadar could be another top tier performer at the trainer's disposal.

The Scat Daddy colt ran on well to beat another smart juvenile in Waldstern that day and William Buick is an eyecatching jockey booking on the two-year-old.

It will be Kadar's first outing in Group company but based on the impression of his first run, it is unlikely to be his last.

Too Darn Hot
3.00 Saturday

It is impossible to leave the impeccably bred Too Darn Hot out of this list, especially given the hype and furore that broke out when his brother was sold for 3,500,000gns at the Tattersalls October Sale on Wednesday.

The John Gosden-trained colt is unbeaten after three thrilling performances, the most recent of which came in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster.

He is favourite for next year's 2,000 Guineas and the Derby, and Too Darn Hot will only strengthen as favourite for both Classics were he to win the Dewhurst.
