Three horses to watch out for from this evening's cards
This week may be mostly about York but that doesn't mean winners cannot be found at the evening meetings. Here we pick out three it could pay to follow as afternoon gives way to night on Wednesday
Jack Crow
6.15 Kempton
Only four line up for the opener at Kempton and we have seen two of them before. Iconic Sunset has had four goes without success now and, while Azezati could well build on her debut second at Yarmouth to improve past him, a chance is taken on the unraced Jack Crow. A 20,000gns yearling, he is a half-brother to winners including Time Warp and trainer Eve Johnson Houghton has had a first-time-out winner on the all-weather this year.
Dubai Elegance
7.15 Kempton
A maiden winner at Chelmsford last year, this daughter of Sepoy did not run without promise when returning from a lengthy layoff at Wolverhampton last time. First-time cheekpieces can help extract the extra bit of ability that has been hinted at before.
Denmead
8.15 Kempton
John Butler's four-year-old has been in fine form of late and travelled like the winner for a long way at Goodwood last time. The testing conditions perhaps blunted his stamina that day and he can return to winning ways this evening with Robert Winston back in the saddle.
