The Lowdown: going updates, racecards, news and tips for today's racing
Today's news
- RED-HOT FORM: Jim Crowley has been successful on his last seven rides in Britain since Thursday and bids to continue his fantastic run with three mounts at Newcastle this evening – Deal A Dollar (6.00), Faakhirah (7.00) and Fiery Mission (7.30)
- BACK FROM A BREAK: the Jim Goldie-trained Call Me Ginger (4.30) ran a remarkable race when second at 100-1 to the smart Deep Intrigue in a conditions race at Newcastle in February. He returns to action in the 6f novice at Redcar.
- OUTSIDER OF THREE: the old adage of backing the biggest-priced runner in a three-runner race could prove profitable in the 1m3f handicap at Yarmouth. The outsider is likely to be Universal Order (3.10) and his rider Jamie Spencer boasts a 26 per cent strike-rate at the track this year with seven winners from 27 mounts.
- BIG IMPRESSION: Kevin Darley enjoyed a 12-length victory in the Racing Post Trophy aboard top two-year-old Celtic Swing in 1994 and believes Pinatubo could be "a bit special" after his National Stakes rout on Sunday.

Finished 13th last time at Ascot but in a more competitive race than this and wasn't actually beaten that far. Won a Class 2 at Doncaster last month and generally competes at a higher level than this.
