One key runner from the five ITV races on day two of Glorious Goodwood
1.45 Goodwood
Unibet You’re On Goodwood Handicap
True Destiny ran a blinder in this race 12 months ago to finish a staying-on third to Timoshenko off a 6lb lower mark. That was his first venture over this demanding marathon trip, and he clearly relished the task.
With the Roger Charlton stable hitting top form over the last week or so, this power-packed five-year-old seems likely to make a bold bid.
2.15 Goodwood
Unibet 3 Boosts A Day Handicap
Winner of two of his three starts this summer, Win O’Clock has the progressive profile of a colt who could produce a career-best now that he steps back up to 1m4f.
On his previous attempt at the trip he was undone by a poor draw in the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot, but was still beaten less than four lengths. Rider Tom Greatrex has been making a big impression lately.
2.45 Goodwood
Markel Insurance Molecomb Stakes
The market told the story before a Naas maiden last Wednesday in which well-backed Steel Bull unleashed a good turn of foot to make a winning debut. He was well on top at the finish as he beat Dense Star by two and a half lengths.
It seems highly significant that he ventures to Goodwood for a Group 3 just seven days later, and the market vibes have already reflected this.
3.15 Goodwood
Qatar Sussex Stakes
Marcus Tregoning’s patient approach with Mohaather can prove rich dividends in this £275,000 feature.
The lightly raced four-year-old looked tailor-made for the Sussex Stakes when quickening superbly to land the Group 2 Summer Mile at Ascot by nearly four lengths last time, a performance which will have done his confidence the world of good.
Always held in the highest regard by connections, the son of Showcasing remains open to further improvement and can finally announce his arrival in the big time. Goodwood should suit him well.
3.45 Goodwood
British Stallion Studs Alice Keppel EBF Fillies' Conditions Stakes
The most experienced member of the sextet with five runs under his belt already, Furlong Factor can put that know-how to maximum use.
Top on official ratings, he made backers of odds-on Sardinia Sunset sweat at York, and was by no means disgraced in Sandown’s Listed National Stakes last time out behind Ubettabelieveit.
