Going, market movers and a tip for today's cards featuring the Epsom Derby trial

An exciting week of racing continues, with six cards hosting a wealth of quality action.

The pick comes from Epsom, where the Listed Blue Riband Trial (2.45) could hold Derby clues with the likes of Cape Of Good Hope and Mackaar hoping to underline potential Classic bids.

Seven races at Perth mark the start of a three-day meeting at the Scottish track, and punters would be wise to follow the four Gordon Elliott-trained runners at a track, as the Irish trainer has a 29 per cent strike-rate.

A jumps meeting at Fontwell is the other afternoon offering, before cards from Southwell, Taunton and Dundalk take over this evening.

Final thought

Mildenberger had looked like Mark Johnston's likeliest Derby hope last season after winning the Fielden Stakes at Newmarket before finishing second to Roaring Lion in Dante. Injury prevented us from seeing the the son of Teofilo again, but it will be intriguing to see whether the four-year-old can get his career back on track in the Investec City And Suburban Handicap (3.55) at Epsom.
