Heavy rain across Britain has led to softening ground and a spate of non-runners at each of the day's seven meetings.

A precautionary inspection will be held at Warwick at 1.00, with officials monitoring a small patch of standing water at the track ahead of its evening jumps card which starts at 5.12.

The going at Haydock is now heavy on the Flat course and soft on the jumps course ahead of its dual-code card headlined by the Pertemps Swinton Handicap Hurdle (3.10).

At Lingfield the going has eased to soft, good to soft in places, from good to soft.

Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: "Aidan O’Brien’s trial combatants at Chester this week didn’t exactly set the world on fire, but the money we’ve seen for both Divinely and Kyprios in Lingfield’s equivalents would indicate big performances are expected from this pair today."

Over 40 non-runners have been declared so far, with 11 coming at Ascot which stages the Tote+ Victoria Cup (3.40), in which Lethal Lunch and Walhaan have been withdrawn.

Acquitted remains a solid 13-2 favourite for the £75,000 handicap, while at bigger prices the Laura Pearson-ridden Zip has been backed into 20-1 from 25-1.

Etonian is a non-runner in the Novibet Derby Trial (2.50) at Lingfield, in which Adayar is the strong even-money favourite to follow up his good second in the Classic Trial at Sandown last time.

In the accompanying Oaks' Trial (2.15), the Aidan O'Brien-trained Divinely is proving popular with punters and is now into as short as 11-2 with some firms having been available at 7-1 earlier this morning.
