Balding is hoping to lay down the Lore in fillies' handicap

Andrew Balding is due a victory in this £15,500 race, having finished second in the last two years with Elbereth and Victoria Pollard.
He bids to make it third time lucky with Lorelina, who ought to handle this switchback course, having won twice round the similar track at Epsom.
Pernickety is already proven at Brighton, having won over this course and distance in a Class 5 handicap last month. She races off a mark 4lb higher here.
Tears of joy
This race has been run only three times and the last two runnings were won by the Clive Cox-trained Tears Of The Sun – who went on to finish second to the 2015 runner-up Elbereth in Listed company at Nottingham last June.
Strange clash
Bizarrely, there is another 71-90 fillies' handicap run just ten minutes later at Nottingham, though that is over an extended mile and is worth £500 less than this.
What they say
David Simcock, trainer of Singyoursong
This is a good place to start and she ran well at the track last year. This looks an open little contest and she is not the biggest and has top weight so we're claiming 5lb off her to help.
Tony Carson, trainer of Hawatif
She's run some nice races since we got her and I think switching back to turf will help her. She's won at Goodwood so she should be able to handle Brighton.
Andrew Balding, trainer of Lorelina
She handles Epsom well so she should handle Brighton. She's in good form and she's always been quite clean-winded so it wouldn't worry me that she hasn't had a run, and I hope she should run well.
Stuart Williams, trainer of Auntie Barber
She's in good form and she's been running well on the all-weather. She is a course-and-distance winner and I hope she'll run well.
Lucy Wadham, trainer of Pernickety
She seems to be getting the hang of things now and she's on the up. She has come out of her win at Brighton well, I'm very happy with her and though this is a big step up in class I'm hoping for a good run.
