James Doyle and Ken Pitterson give you their views on the weekend action

Who is your idea of the Derby Trial winner at Lingfield?
David Baxter, reporter The Classic trials have hardly been conclusive, and with that in mind I’m happy to take a punt on Scope. On official ratings he has it all to do, but could still be unbeaten but for hanging late on last time at Newmarket. He should be fine at the 1m3½f trip and is open to plenty of progress for the in-form Ralph Beckett.
Chris Cook, Reporter of the Year Unusually, it feels like the Godolphin and Coolmore camps could do with some cheering up, both having had some disappointments along the Derby trail so far. Adayar’s Sandown effort is convincing for me in the context of this weak-looking race. I like the way he closed from a lot further back than the first and third.
James Doyle, jockey I rode Adayar to be second in the Classic Trial at Sandown last time when he missed the break and it turned into a little bit of a messy race. He made up a lot of ground in the straight, however, and I expect this longer trip and ease in the ground to suit him.
