Police patrols to prevent crowds gathering on Cleeve Hill for Cheltenham
Racing fans are being warned not to gather at local beauty spot Cleeve Hill during the Cheltenham Festival, with the police set to patrol the area which overlooks the racecourse.
Cleeve Hill is situated a mile north of the track and as the highest point in the Cotswolds offers a scenic view of the action for those unable to watch this year's festival held behind closed doors.
But local police have warned they will be using "police powers" if government coronavirus guidelines are breached. Under Covid-19 rules to come in on March 8, picnics will be allowed in public areas but only with one other person or members of your household or support bubble.
