Paddy Power co-founder leaves after 28 years
Paddy Power Betfair have announced Stewart Kenny, one of the most highly respected businessmen in Ireland, will step down as a non-executive director of its board having been an integral part of the company for 28 years.
Kenny was co-founder of Paddy Power and played a huge role in the development of the firm, which is now worth around €10 billion, serving as chief executive until 2002 and overseeing the transition from betting shop to global betting giant.
Kenny was part of Paddy Power from the start. Having managed a Ladbrokes shop in London, he returned to his native Ireland and was employed by various bookmakers before opening a shop under his own name.
