Savour the story of Pam Sly and Eileendover - it will become increasingly rare

For several weeks at the backend of last year trainer Pam Sly's phone would not stop ringing.

There was a good reason for this. Sly's homebred filly Eileendover had been posting eyecatching performances in bumpers, and individuals with deep pockets were seeking to get their hands on her so they could target the big races for which she seemed destined. However, Sly had bad news for these would-be buyers – thank you for your interest but Eileendover is not for sale.

Stepped up in class for a Listed mares' bumper at Market Rasen a couple of Saturdays ago, Eileendover duly vindicated Sly's decision when her filly won again in scintillating style.
