It was great to see Go Conquer land the £100,000 Sky Bet Handicap Chase at Doncaster last Saturday.
I was delighted for Mr and Mrs Rooney and Jason Maguire, but most of the credit goes to Dad.
Go Conquer, who is ten, is eligible for veterans’ chases and there must have been a temptation to wait for one of those races at somewhere like Ascot.
