Great for racing that no-one wanted to go home - but causes for concern remain

And, just like that, the Cheltenham Festival was gone. All those months of anticipation, excitement, nervousness and plotting played out over four days in the Cotswolds last week and here we are left to look back and ask ourselves what we made of it all.

In this space prior to this year’s festival, I laid out what I thought were four key areas to focus on outside the actual racing to give us an idea of the health of the sport and the direction we are likely to be going in for the remainder of 2022.

It would seem sensible to go back over those areas and form some kind of assessment about them. We can't all go on about just how utterly magnificent Constitution Hill was for ever, can we?
