One jockey, one trainer, one horse and one race to watch on Saturday
Jockey
Tom Marquand has been riding out of his skin and will bid to keep his fantastic form going at Haydock on Saturday.
Marquand, who continued his red-hot form with a double at Sandown on Thursday night, holds a leading chance on the classy Sea La Rosa in the Pinnacle Stakes (2.55).
The jockey also gets the leg up on main hopes Thunder Legend (1.10) and Vintage Choice (4.40) and while Tenaya Canyon (1.45) and Zabeel Champion (2.20) are outsiders, Marquand should not leave empty-handed.
Trainer
William Haggas has also hit a purple patch and has leading chances with his runners on Saturday.
Haggas teams up with regular jockey Tom Marquand at Haydock with Pinnacle Stakes runner Sea La Rosa (2.55), Thunder Legend (1.10) and Vintage Choice (4.40), while the prolific Mahrajaan could be a potential Group horse in the 1m4f handicap (2.20).
Haggas saddles one other runner on the day – the well-fancied Razeyna at Chester (2.10) – and it could be another bumper day for the Newmarket trainer.
Horse
Dragon Symbol had looked destined for the top of the sprinting division, but he is now bidding to salvage his career in the Listed Achilles Stakes at Haydock (1.45).
While he did not win at Group level last year, the son of Cable Bay posted some admirable efforts in defeat, being demoted from first place in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot before hitting the frame in the July Cup and Nunthorpe Stakes.
However, he was a disappointing seventh on his debut for new trainer Roger Varian in the 1895 Duke of York on his reappearance and needs to win here to keep his top-class promise intact.
Race
Royal Ascot clues could be on show on one of Beverley's biggest days of the year and it should be worth following the winner of the bet365 Two-Year-Old Trophy (3.15), which was won by Norfolk Stakes winner Prince Of Lir in 2016.
Whistle And Flute has been progressive in two starts and represents Eve Johnson Houghton, Charlie Bishop and owners The Woodway 20, who scored at the royal meeting with juvenile Chipotle last year.
Andrew Balding and William Buick rekindle their partnership with the once-raced Chateau, while Rogue Bear could provide Tom Clover with a boost before Rogue Millennium's Oaks bid next Friday.
