Nominations for industry employee awards to close on Tuesday afternoon
The clock is ticking for nominations for the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards, which close at 5pm on Tuesday.
The awards, which this year carry a £128,500 total prize pot and were formerly known as the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards, recognise the hard work and dedication of those who support racing behind the scenes.
After a two-year hiatus in which the event was staged virtually, there will be a ceremony chaired by Nick Luck on Monday, February 20.
There have been changes to the 11-strong judging team, with Classic-winning jockey turned broadcaster George Baker and Aintree clerk of the course Sulekha Varma newly appointed to the panel.
The six prizes up for grabs offer recognition for a wide range of staff contributions and for those at all stages in their racing careers.
The highlight of the evening is the announcement of the employee of the year award for which there is a prize of £10,000, with a further £10,000 going to the winner’s yard or stud.
Last year’s winner, Paddy Trainor of Johnston Racing, who described his victory as “like winning the World Cup”, will also be a part of the judging team.
Nominations are open until 5pm on Tuesday for the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards, sponsored by Godolphin. Find out more by visiting .
