David Jennings with five dark horses for the Dublin Racing Festival

1. Sutton Place (Flogas Novice Chase)
Okay, he might not be as dark as you might have been hoping for, but Sutton Place could still be under-rated and would be very interesting if he showed up in the Grade 1 Flogas Novice Chase. Don't forget he scooted seven and a half lengths clear of Supasundae when giving him 5lb at Naas last season and has the size and scope to do even better over fences. If the inclement weather continues, he could take some stopping on February 4.

2. Farclas(Tattersalls Ireland Spring Juvenile Hurdle)
Reversing form with Espoir D'Allen might be asking a bit too much, but there should be lots more to come from this French import. Allowed to go off at 10-1 for his Irish debut in a Grade 2 over Christmas, he shaped with significant promise and Davy Condon, Gordon Elliott's assistant, suggested there was big improvement in his locker. Watch this space.

3. Brace Yourself (Goffs INH Flat Race)
The son of Mahler made a breathtaking debut at Down Royal over Christmas when winning a 2m bumper by 24 lengths. He devoured a previous point winner in Dorydalis who had finished fourth to Red Jack in a red-hot Fairyhouse bumper. Noel Meade has revealed it is all guns blazing for the Grade 2 Goffs Flat Race and it will be interesting to find out whether what we saw at Down Royal was real or not.

4. Dicey O'Reilly (Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novice Hurdle)
He might only have a maiden hurdle win next to his name, but the way Henry De Bromhead was talking about the son of Stowaway suggests he could turn out to be quite useful. Samcro will obviously prove a serious stumbling block but he could frighten away potential rivals and Dicey O'Reilly might emerge as a solid each-way alternative.

5. Highland Fling (Coral.ie Hurdle)
The entries have yet to be revealed for the big handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival but the vibes coming from Gavin Cromwell were that useful Flat performer Highland Fling could be nicely-treated off 128 should he sneak into the coral.ie Handicap Hurdle. He was very impressive when winning a competitive handicap hurdle at Listowel last September off 118 and perhaps a 10lb higher mark will not be enough to prevent him from scooping another valuable pot.
