New to Racing Post? Here's your quick guide to making the most of our products

The Racing Post is famous for breaking the biggest news stories and has been doing so since 1986. We host our biggest stories on our homepage but have more specific areas for news of different types within the news tab.

As we enjoy a fantastic month of racing in June, we also have everything you need to make an informed betting choice and place your bets through our website and mobile app.

This includes:

Online betting accounts - if you don't have one already or would like to open a new one, our free bets page has all the information you need and some exclusive offers from the best bookmakers.

The runners and riders - our easy-to-read racecards have the key information; jockeys, trainers, horses and much more.

The form - you can get detailed analysis of every horse's previous results or a quick snapshot to help decide which horse to bet on.

A simple way to place bets - once you have an account, you can log into that account on our website and app. This allows you to place bets with multiple bookmakers without leaving us.

Somewhere to watch the race - we have live video available for any race you've bet on through our website or app. Place a bet of £/€1 or more to watch.

Fast results - if you’re out and about and need to see the result of a race, we’ve got you covered. Fast results are up quickly and we then give the full results as they are confirmed.

Online betting accounts

You can bet online with a number of online bookmakers. Accounts are simple to open, requiring some personal details and a funding method. We have a range of bookmakers and review each of their offers on our free bets page. If you already have a funded betting account you are good to go.

Racecards

Our racecards have the essential names of horses, jockeys and trainers plus everything you need to know including latest form, stalls position, horse age, horse weight (handicapping may apply), official ratings (a quick guide to the relative ability of each horse), breeding information plus the live odds from a selection of leading bookmakers.

You can use the summary view of the racecards or customise your racecard with the form icons, which you can toggle on and off underneath the name of the horse.

Form

If you click on or search for a horse name, we'll show you that horse's full profile. From here you can view the horse's full career history and use this information to compare their form to other runners in the race. From the summary of previous runs, you can click into specific races to get more detailed information about that particular performance. You can also see the odds for previous races and a list of future races the horse has been entered in.

Racing tips

We provide selections for all races we offer on the Racing Post at the bottom of the racecard. By default, this will be a 'Spotlight Verdict', which is a summary of how we think the race will pan out. Our favoured selection will be in capital letters. We will also have a short analysis piece for every horse, giving you more background ahead of placing your bet.

You can also find a useful summary of horse racing tips from other publishers and the horse's current odds.

Betting

One of the most popular features on the Racing Post is the ability to use your existing bookmaker account to bet without leaving our racecards or switching apps.

• Click the 'Bookmakers' button near the top of your screen to login to your bookmaker accounts or sign up to a new account.
• Go to a racecard and study the in-depth easy-to-use form.
• Click the odds button of your selection to open the betslip.
• Choose your stake and click place bet.
• Just before the race starts click 'Watch live' to view the full race live.

Watching live racing

You can watch any race in the UK & Ireland on our products. Simply place a minimum £/€1 bet with your existing bookmaker account on our website or free app and you will automatically qualify to watch the race live.

Fast results

If you can't watch the race or want to find exactly where your horse finished there are a number of ways to get results on the Racing Post.

You can track our real-time text commentary from the 'Live' above any racecards. This updates in real time.

We host headline results on our 'Fast Results' page and then publish detailed results and analysis on our 'Results' pages.
