Littmoden to have first runners for two years next week
Former champion all-weather trainer Nick Littmoden is set to have his first runners for two years next week as he restarts his training career from Red House Stables in Newmarket.
Littmoden trained more than 600 winners in his first spell at headquarters, many of who were from the nearby Southgate Stables on Hamilton Road, including Group winners such as the consistent Cretan Gift.
Littmoden has this time around relaunched as a dual-purpose handler and is hoping to have his first runners at Uttoxeter or Fakenham next week.
Speaking at the Tattersalls October sales, he said: "I've around a dozen horses in at the moment split between Flat and jumpers but I've never really been out of the game as I did pre-training at my place in Norfolk and I've been coming down to ride out for James Eustace."
After settling in, Littmoden is itching to get started again and has some nice jumping prospects to get him going.
He added: "I've been given the green light to make entries again. I've a nice French ex-Flat horse called Figeac, who could run at Uttoxeter next Thursday, and I've another nice type in Hatem, who could go up the road to Fakenham the following day."
