The week-long Galway festival kicks off with a seven-race card on the Flat.

Elswhere, amateur jockey Ben Bromley goes for a four-timer on the Paul Nicholls-trained Chez Hans in the feature handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (2.05).

Other afternoon meetings come from Ayr and Lingfield before evening showings at Windsor and Wolverhampton offer punters the chance to warm up for Glorious Goodwood.

Glorious Goodwood gets under way with a mouthwatering card headlined by Stradivarius going for a staggering fifth successive win in the Group 1 Goodwood Cup Stakes (3.35).

The Group 2 Vintage Stakes (2.25) features Coventry winner Berkshire Shadow, with the Lennox Stakes (3.00), the other Group 2 on the card potentially featuring a Charlie Appleby Godolphin showdown between Group 1 globetrotting star Space Blues and five-time winner Creative Force.

Day two of the Galway festival continues on the Flat with other afternoon Flat offerings coming from Beverley and Yarmouth. Those wanting their summer jumping fix can do so with evening meetings at Perth and Worcester.

The Galway Plate takes centre stage as The Shunter bids to land another big prize for Emmet Mullins in the €250,000 feature race of the meeting (6.15). The Cheltenham Festival winner heads the market on what will be a third start for JP McManus, for whom he is winless so far.

Before that, the second day of the Glorious meeting is headlined by the Group 1 Sussex Stakes (3.35) as Jim Bolger's Poetic Flare chases a third Group 1 win this season after taking the Qipco 2,000 Guineas and the St James's Palace last time out. The feature race is preceded by two Group 3s, the Oak Tree Stakes (2.25) and the Markel Molecomb Stakes (3.00).

Jumps racing comes from Perth once again with Redcar, Sandown and Leicester offering a variety of Flat options for spectators.

The inaugural Racing League kicks off at Newcastle with a six-race evening card but there is more Group 1 action at Goodwood to look forward to before that.

Course-and-distance winner Audarya bids to go one better in the feature Nassau Stakes (3.35) after being narrowly held by Love in the Prince of Wales's last time out. The Group 2 Richmond Stakes (2.25) and the Group 3 Gordon Stakes (3.00) also feature on another quality day's racing.

It's ladies' day at Galway with the feature €250,000 Galway Hurdle (6.15) including Cheltenham Festival and Grade 1 winner Belfast Banter. The Grade 3 Rockshore Novice Chase (5.45) also looks an intriguing event.

Stratford and Nottingham offer options for Midlands racegoers in the afternoon, while Epsom hosts a six-race evening meeting.

Day four of Glorious Goodwood means all eyes are on Battaash who seeks a fifth successive win in the Group 2 King George Stakes (3.35) at the age of seven.

The Galway festival continues with the fifth day featuring a competitive eight -race jumps card.

Bangor and Wolverhampton host afternoon racing before evening meetings galore with Newmarket on the July course for the final time this year as well as Musselburgh and Bath.


The final day of the Glorious meeting is bound to keep punters guessing with the always competitive Stewards' Cup (3.40). Punters will also be wondering whether David Menuisier will run Wonderful Tonight in the Group 2 Lillie Langtry Stakes (3.05) with the absence of firm in the going description essential for his Arc-bound filly.

The Listed Chalice Stakes (2.45) headlines the afternoon's racing at Newmarket with Doncaster, Lingfield and Hamilton completing the British meetings.

Galway's mammoth week comes to an end with a seven-race Flat card.

After a hectic week there is a relatively quiet end to proceedings in England with the Listed Queensferry Stakes at Chester headlining the day's racing. There is also a meeting at Thirsk with Market Rasen the only meeting over jumps.
