Three runners to note under the lights at Wolverhampton
Following an action-packed afternoon, Wolverhampton keeps the show on the road in the evening with an eight-race card starting at 5.40 and televised live on At The Races. Here we pick out three horses worth noting.
Looking For Carl
7.45 Wolverhampton
He relished the step up to two miles to get off the mark at the sixth attempt at Kempton this month, having finished a promising second there on his previous start.
Those improved displays came with the fitting of cheekpieces and the Harry Dunlop-trained three-year-old looks an unexposed stayer.
He tackles a similar assignment with Luke Morris taking over in the saddle and has a good chance of defying a 4lb rise.
Regulars at Dunstall Park will be familiar with this five-year-old as he has made more than half of his 31 starts at the course.
With all three of those wins coming here, he has shown an affinity for the track and gets another run out just two days after finishing a solid third at Thursday's additional fixture.
The all-weather stalwart is just 1lb higher than his last winning mark and looks likely to be involved in the shake-up.
Kevin Frost is a trainer to keep on side over both codes and he can claim the finale with this two-time course winner.
The seven-year-old has taken a bit of time to get going since returning from a long layoff in the summer, but his last two runs at Chelmsford from bad draws offer plenty of encouragement.
He is an interesting contender returning to this track and his prospects are boosted by the likelihood of having a decent pace to aim at.
