'That's the way things are' - Dettori to miss more big races due to isolation
Frankie Dettori is resigned to missing important domestic Group 1 action such as Dubai Future Champions Weekend as a result of the quarantine regulations connected to his two upcoming trips to France.
Dettori missed last month's Ebor meeting at York in order to make a cross-channel trip to Deauville where he racked up two big-race wins, including the success of Palace Pier in the Prix Jacques le Marois.
Having only come out of quarantine from that trip a week ago, Dettori is now set to have a similar eight-day period of isolation after this weekend when he is to partner Stradivarius in the Group 2 Prix Foy at Longchamp.

In terms of anything of note, the subsequent quarantine for elite sportspeople would only rule him out of the Mill Reef meeting at Newbury on September 19.
However, his proposed return trip to ride Enable in the Arc on October 3 will impact on bigger events.
He said: "I plan to go over to France on Sunday and take another spell in quarantine and then do the same after the Arc. I'll be missing the Future Champions Weekend at Newmarket, which includes the Dewhurst, but that is the way things are at the moment. Then, hopefully, I will be back for Champions Day at Ascot."
Future Champions Weekend, which takes place from October 9-10, features two Group 1 races for juveniles, the Dewhurst and Fillies' Mile, as well as the second leg of the autumn double, the Cesarewitch.
More immediately, as well as partnering Stradivarius in the Foy on Sunday, Dettori has also picked up the ride on Dame Malliott for Ed Vaughan in the Group 1 Prix Vermeille on the same card.
As for his quarantine routine at his house near Newmarket, Dettori added: "I don't mind it to begin with but after three days it gets a bit boring and I start to annoy everybody. I have a gym and things to keep me busy and hopefully it's worth it."
