Enable to step up Arc preparation with Rowley Mile gallop on Wednesday
Enable will grace a British racecourse once again after she was booked for a gallop on Newmarket's Rowley Mile on Wednesday morning.
Fresh from her crowd-pulling performance at the Newmarket open weekend on Sunday, Khalid Abdullah's star mare is to have a much-needed exercise on turf as a crucial part of her build up to her historic bid for a third successive Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe next month.
A lack of rain in West Suffolk has meant Enable, an 8-11 chance to triumph in Paris on October 6, has been confined to the all-weather surfaces since defeating Magical in the Yorkshire Oaks last month.
Although rain was falling in Newmarket on Tuesday morning, trainer John Gosden is taking no chances with the condition of the local grass gallops, which have not had any serious rain for six weeks.
The ten-time Group 1 winner is to arrive at the Rowley Mile around 7am for her workout where she will be ridden by Frankie Dettori.
Gosden said: "Enable has got a little bored of going up the Al Bahathri on work mornings and she really needs to get on some nice turf. Thanks to Newmarket and Michael Prosser for allowing us to use the Rowley Mile in the midst of the Gold Season, which is a busy time for everybody.
"Hopefully, the workout on turf will put an edge on Enable and we can then go back to the all-weather surfaces if we need to."
Enable has never appeared at either Newmarket track during her 14-race career.
