Franconia, an impressive winner of the Listed Abingdon Stakes, is out of Thursday's Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York due to a bad scope.

The daughter of Frankel, trained by John Gosden, was ante-post favourite for the Group 3 but drifted in the market to 11-4 (from 13-8) with Sky Bet on Tuesday after Frankie Dettori was booked to ride stablemate Ricetta.

Ricetta, also owned by Khalid Abdullah, was backed into 7-4 favourite (from 6) with the same firm on Tuesday.

Gosden said: "I scoped Franconia on Tuesday morning after she gave a cough at exercise and we got the results back this morning which showed she had a mucus issue so we had to take her out.

"I switched Frankie on to Ricetta yesterday when I thought it was unlikely that Franconia could run."

The filly, due to be ridden by Graham Lee, was declared a non-runner on Wednesday morning.

A half-sister to Nassau Stakes winner Winsili, Franconia was second on her debut at Chelmsford last year before scoring readily at Newbury last month.

Ricetta is now a top-priced 5-2 favourite with bet365, with the Roger Charlton-trained Pocket Square – also owned by Khalid Abdullah – next best at 4-1.

The daughter of Camelot is unbeaten in two starts, both at Newmarket, and steps up to Group company for the first time.
