A maximum of two trainers will be represented in Saturday's King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which is somewhat disappointing – as is the fact that there will be no three-year-old runner, while the most meaningful opponents to Enable are Magical and Japan, two horses she has regularly sparred with and beaten.

That all three also reside in Ballydoyle barns serves only to highlight the lack of trainer diversity.

As does the fact Enable's stablemates Stradivarius, Mishriff and Lord North would provide the next most intriguing opposition, Ghaiyyath aside – his connections have already named the Juddmonte International Stakes as his next target.
