Jubiloso looks Royal Ascot-bound after extending unbeaten run
Jubiloso, who impressed at Newbury on Friday, is set to head to Royal Ascot, but connections have yet to decide which race the beautifully bred filly will tackle.
Jubiloso, whose dam Joyeuse is a half-sister to wonder horse Frankel, bolted up by seven lengths, building on her convincing debut win at Chelmsford last month.
She is trained in Newmarket by Sir Michael Stoute for her breeder Khalid Abdullah, whose racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe said of the three-year-old: "We don't have a definite plan, but I'd hope Sir Michael would want to head to Royal Ascot, but what guise that might take is hard to tell. We'll see how she is.
"I suppose she could do the Sandringham, Jersey or Coronation Stakes. She didn't surprise us on Friday and we've always liked her. She's shown a good deal of ability at home, but that doesn't always translate to the racecourse."
Grimthorpe, who said the John Gosden-trained Logician – "a work in progress" who also won on Friday at Newbury – would bypass the Investec Derby, added: "When Jubiloso won at Chelmsford she was a bit green. One minute she was fourth, being pushed along and then suddenly, and almost deceptively, she came through.
"It could have been a bit of greenness, but she won well and her work since had been encouraging. From that point of view we were pretty hopeful, but the style she did it in was visually impressive. She's got a fantastic pedigree."
Jubiloso is a general 8-1 chance for the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday, June 21.
