Eve Johnson Houghton on the social media, text and email abuse sent to trainers
Group 1-winning trainer Eve Johnson Houghton has shed light on the frightening extent of abuse sent via social media, text and email to trainers, having been forced to report threats of setting fire to her yard and physical violence to the police.
Johnson Houghton, successful in the Queen Anne Stakes with Accidental Agent three years ago, was speaking following the Racing Post’s recent investigation into the appalling social media abuse received by jockeys, after which PJ McDonald warned one in ten riders may suffer career damage from the impact of hateful or violent messages.
