'It's worked in my favour' - stroke of luck for Powell before Denman Chase

The weather-disrupted recent schedule has been a hindrance to many, but not so for jockey Brendan Powell jnr, who is eyeing a return to the saddle in time to ride The Conditional in the Grade 2 Denman Chase this weekend.

Powell has been out of action for the last month after fracturing his arm in a fall from the Michael Scudamore-trained Smiths Cross at Wetherby on January 12.

But assuming he gets the all-clear from his doctors, the jockey will return just in time for a huge weekend where his highlight ride will be on the David Bridgwater-trained The Conditional at Newbury.
