The couch potatoes have been peeled and let loose at last.

For the first time since early October, owners were allowed to go racing in Ireland on bank holiday Monday and glorious sunshine greeted them at Gowran Park and Listowel.

It has been a long, dark and, at times, seemingly never-ending tunnel but light has finally flickered for those who pay the bills and nobody enjoyed the homecoming more than Liam Kelly of the North County Syndicate.
