Irish staffing chief insists 'nobody was ignored' as he rejects allegations

The chief executive of the Irish Stable Staff Association (ISSA) has insisted "nobody put money in their pocket and ran away with it" after it emerged that Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) had raised concerns about its governance and expenses.

The association has come under scrutiny following an article in the Sunday Independent which revealed HRI’s correspondence with the representative body for stable staff.

According to the Sunday Independent, HRI also wrote to ISSA to query the “significant levels” of expenses incurred in the organisation’s 2017 accounts.
